A Family Tradition...Designed by John Maschal, Bay Village
was built in 1965 as a 19th Century replica of a waterfront
village. Complete with a surrounding boardwalk, the original
16 shops included The Golden Nickelodeon, The Windmill,
The Crust & Crumb Bakery, as well as John Maschal's
Famous Country Kettle Fudge Shop.

There were also apparel stores, an art gallery, an antique
shop, an old-fashioned candy shop and a theatre
specializing in old time silent movies. Since its opening
on Decoration Day, (now known as Memorial Day)
in 1966, many things have changed in Beach Haven.
Through it all, John Maschal and Bay Village have
continued to provide tourists with a vacation destination
where generations of Long Beach Island visitors
have come to "Spend the Day at 9th and Bay!"

of Bay Village are taking shape, middle right, red and white!

Today, historic Bay Village still holds the charm of a 19th Century waterfront
marketplace with plenty of places to shop, eat and enjoy!
